The word casserole comes from the Latin term for ladle - as such, the handy pot with handle was used, for example, for the goulash cannon. Small dishes, milk and soups can be warmed up quickly and comfortably. It is also useful for creams and puddings. While one hand holds the handle - the hollow handle does not heat up during cooking - the other guides the whisk in the pot. In a saucepan, sauces are reduced over a low flame, which are then dosed and drip-free on the plate over the pouring rim.
