Coffeepress Kult glass insert
A raw egg is more stable than this insert! Unfortunately, the lid on the rod has so much play that it can't be left unattended while inserting it, as it inevitably slips/falls onto the glass, which, as we all know, can't withstand that. Nice design, but very fragile.

Everything's fine - it just takes way too long in the store!

scrap
agree with the previous reviewer. Compared to the previous glass insert, this one is significantly thinner and predictably won't last. I was already dreading trying to push the replacement glass insert into the metal body or even removing it again. It was a complete waste of money. After four weeks, the glass insert broke again, cracking during normal cleaning – I have no idea how that could have happened. Previously, the glass lasted for years before breaking because it "slipped out of my hand" or a metal object was dropped on it. I've now bought a new coffee maker from a different manufacturer. WMF seems determined to drive customers away, and they've certainly succeeded.

Incredibly bad and outrageous
The replacement glass has noticeably lost strength; compared to the coffee press I bought a few years ago, it's thinner and lighter. After only six months, the glass cracked simply from hot water, without any force being applied. The response from WMF's "customer service" was incredibly ridiculous: a reference to the fragility of glass and a €5 voucher as compensation (which covers the shipping costs and isn't even a discount). Of course, glass is fragile, but if something designed for use with hot water cracks, then there's a CLEAR quality defect, something that has become increasingly common with WMF products in recent years. I would therefore generally advise against buying WMF products, unless you're willing to pay for replacement glass and repairs every six months.
