Very stable
So far, it's only been used for cracking nuts, and it works wonderfully. No pinched fingers, no flying nutshells. We haven't tried it as a bottle opener yet. One minor drawback: the spring squeaks a little. It doesn't bother us, but we wanted to mention it.

Ideally suited for walnuts, especially those with thick shells. It's only meant to crack them, not crush them, and it does just that.
