Versatile, top quality, best value for money, stays extremely sharp for a very long time, for excellent cutting and grating results... there is no better grater!

Not very good quality...
Unfortunately, the WMF Gourmet box grater appears to have a design flaw: the central support bar on the handle came loose after some time, rendering the grater unusable due to a significant risk of injury. The bar cannot be securely reattached because it was riveted in place – but the rivets are too short. This is unacceptable at this price point, as one definitely expects and pays for higher quality from WMF.

This grater is good quality. You can also grate carrots with a slightly coarser grater. The results weren't any different with carrots when using Grandma's box grater. I would buy it again.

Not recommended, flawed design.
The grater is attractive and well-made. However, I've found—as mentioned in a previous review—that grating carrots, for example, is difficult. The reason lies in the incorrect offset of the individual grating blades. There are "dead" lines between the blades, and the carrot can only be grated if, in addition to the up-and-down motion, angled movements are also used to process the entire vegetable. Incidentally, the same problem exists not only with the coarse but also with the fine grating. I didn't have these problems with my previous grater from a Swedish furniture store. Unfortunately, I no longer have the receipt, otherwise I would return it to the store. CONCLUSION: I cannot recommend this product due to this serious design flaw!

Grating carrots is not possible.
Hi, I tried grating carrots with the coarse side of the grater yesterday. It's either impossible or extremely difficult. You constantly have to shift the carrots sideways. It's just not practical. WMF is great, but this particular model is unusable for this purpose. Sorry.

After 25 years, my old grater unfortunately lost its sharpness... but I can live with that ;-) I bought this grater now and I'm super happy!! Sharp and WMF is WMF. I'd rather spend a few more marks and get quality!! You get what you pay for ;-)
