The spoon broke at the two weld points during its first use. Very disappointing, as I specifically chose the more expensive product in the store and trusted WMF's quality.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to use it yet; it looks great, but I'm worried it might break at the weld. I hope that doesn't happen with a WMF product.

I like it; it's not too bulky, and you can cut the ice cream precisely.

Breaks on first use!
The ice cream scoop looks really nice, but it's a safety hazard. Even with very soft ice cream, the scoop broke immediately at the handle where the weld seam snapped, even with just a little pressure. This is very disappointing considering the price and the quality you usually expect from WMF Profi Plus Helper products.

A clean sweep.
We initially used the Gourmet ice cream scoop. Between scoops, or when changing flavors, you place it in a container of warm water. The spiral spring between the handles collects the water and releases it over your fingers for the next scoop. Why am I mentioning this? Because this doesn't happen with this version, which has no mechanism – so it's a neat and effective solution.

I bought it with high expectations, as I have been a loyal WMF customer for years, but the ice cream portioner unfortunately disappointed me. I would either take it off the market entirely or add an improvement; otherwise, I love WMF products.
