Mishap with the plastic thread of the grind adjustment wheel - Note
I also had the problem with the plastic thread – this is indeed annoying, especially since you'd have to throw away a very good grinder, as these grinders are sometimes available in pairs at WMF stores for €10. However, I bought a small bag of 10 small metal wheels online from a very popular platform in the Far East. They are flat, have a serrated edge, and are a perfect fit in diameter (between 1 and 1.5 cm). The thread is M5. This little treat cost €2.50, and my broken grinder is working perfectly again. I'll replace the plastic wheel on my two spare grinders as soon as their threads wear out. My rating is only average because, although the mechanism is very good, the wheel unfortunately only has a plastic thread.

The adjusting nut on the plastic pepper mill is the weak point.
I was actually planning to buy a new adjustment nut here. Surely WMF must know that this is the weak point on their grinders. And I don't understand why they haven't changed it. I'm now trying it with an M5 metal nut. I'm a bit puzzled.

Plastic, plastic, plastic... Outrageous!!!!!
Even though it's described as DE LUXE, and perhaps visually appealing, it is and remains absolute rubbish! Within approximately 1.5 years, I've had to replace a total of 3 mills! This time, on one of them, the entire grinding mechanism fell out of the top and bottom when I turned it during the second use after installation. Conveniently, this happened while I was eating! Bon appétit! After many years and a considerable number of WMF purchases, including a few items with "minor flaws" but also many good products, this was definitely my last purchase from WMF.

M5 wing nut
Like everyone else who reviewed this, our adjustment knob was also stripped – no wonder with the plastic threads. It's shocking and disappointing how common such deliberately introduced weaknesses are these days. As an alternative to the adjustment knob and grinding cone (although most people probably don't even need the latter), I recommend getting a wing nut with an M5 thread. It costs less, lasts many times longer, and the grinder is much easier to adjust!

Design flaw: easily breakable plastic on steel
Another comment mentions "planned obsolescence?" If it's not that, then it can only be incompetence. Both would have been unthinkable at WMF in the past, but unfortunately, today it seems to be the norm. Maximum profit margin, minimum quality, made in China.

Broken after one week
I've been using these grinders for a few months and have already had to replace the plastic part three times. The quality is poor. I wouldn't recommend these grinders to anyone or order a replacement part again.
