The top part of the glass (the thread) broke and shattered. I had to throw away the entire contents.

Do not buy
The plastic housing of the grinder mechanism failed after only around two years of normal use. The worst part is, WMF are unwilling to rectify the problem and continue to sell this product knowing there is an obvious defect. Quite simply, it shows they do not value their customers and or take their commitment to sustainability seriously.

As with the others, the grinding mechanism broke out over the weekend. As with the others, the grinding mechanism's mounting broke.

Grinder broken out
As many other reviews have already mentioned, the grinding mechanism on my spice mill also broke out of its plastic housing. It's all the more frustrating that I've already had the exact same problem twice, and this is now the third mill! Galeria Kaufhof wasn't particularly enthusiastic about my last complaint. I don't see another exchange as pointless, since all the mills have the same weak point, but I also don't think it's right to throw away over €40. I'll be exchanging the mill yet again.

Poor workmanship
Having purchased many excellent kitchen utensils from WMF, this pepper mill has been a huge disappointment. I'm now on my third (!) mill, and this one also broke today while cooking at the same familiar problem spot (the plastic piece that holds the grinding mechanism). Had I known beforehand that the pepper mill would be so poorly made for the price, I would have opted for a model from another well-known brand!

Defective after 2 years
Unfortunately, I can only confirm the existing reviews: the grinding mechanism breaks at the two plastic brackets. I'd hate to throw the whole grinder away and had hoped to be able to order replacement parts. Now I'll buy a product from a different manufacturer. Besides, it's almost deceptive to offer a 10-year warranty on the grinding mechanism when its bracket is guaranteed to break before then...

Broken plastic, WMF Nature salt/pepper mill, 18cm
Like Anita's, the plastic part broke, but WMF doesn't seem to care, especially since I no longer have the receipt. I thought that where it says WMF, it's actually WMF, but no... it's just plastic, and unfortunately, the company's attitude towards their product is just as bad.

Grinder broken
Two grinding mechanisms have broken within less than six months. The warranty process is cumbersome, even though this product defect seems to be known, as other reviews indicate – who keeps their receipts for pepper mills anyway...?

Plastic broken
The plastic holder for the grinding mechanism of the mill broke after about a year of use. Unfortunately, this is not covered under warranty.

Broken after 18 months
It always worked properly, but after about 1.5 years of normal use, the grinder suddenly broke off. At this price, that's unacceptable.
