Lasted 30 years
I bought this exact model in 1993. Hard to believe, but it lasted until last week and performed its function flawlessly. Reason enough for me to buy it again. I can't confirm the reviews saying you can't open cans with it. Even my 10-year-old daughter can use it. The product isn't always the problem... :-)

unclear function
We have several can openers at home, including some old ones from BW and Leifheit. During a visit to the WMF outlet in Wolfsburg, we came across this attractive opener. The employee had no idea how it worked but, of course, recommended we buy it. Five or six cans later, we still haven't figured it out. We'll be returning it on our next visit.
