The lid is very, very good even for old WMF pans.
Unfortunately, the glass lid with a metal rim on my 15-year-old, uncoated WMF frying pan broke. About a month ago, I bought a solid glass lid (they don't make the same kind as the old one anymore), and I'm thrilled! Steaming and frying are wonderful with it; the lid fits perfectly. I even have the impression that everything cooks faster than with the old lid. And the lid is very easy to clean; even grease splatters come off easily. Now I'm giving one of these lids, along with a WMF frying pan, as a Christmas present.

Lid leaking
Caution: There's an empty, hollow space under the lid handle where water easily collects, and it's impossible to get it out. While the water does dry over time, food scraps that get in with the water accumulate there. Customer service says: no defect, "unscrew the lid completely yourself to clean it." (Unscrew the pan lid yourself with tools?!?) Not recommended!!
