MLF MILK CHOCOLAT FROTHER

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend purchasing this appliance. The quality is sadly "Made in China"; the solder joints on the stirring unit broke on mine as well. A friend of mine had the same problem (luckily, hers was still under warranty), and judging by the reviews here, it seems to be a common issue. For a relatively expensive product, I find such quality defects unacceptable. It's a real shame; by cutting corners in the wrong place, WMF's good reputation is being permanently damaged. Therefore, I cannot recommend this product!

We bought our Lono milk frother in 2018. Since then, the whisk (the connection between the base plate and the whisk) has broken twice. The first time was after about 1.5 years, and the second time was a week ago (August 2021). This is incredibly disappointing. The machine itself works perfectly, and we love our frothed milk. The first time, we simply bought a replacement whisk for €25. This time, we're still deciding what to do. Should we try to repair it ourselves? Claim under warranty? Unfortunately, we've read in the reviews here that it can take months for them to respond. We'll see.

Three years ago, I treated myself to this milk frother. It wasn't exactly cheap, but I'd heard a lot of good things about the frothed milk it produced. And WMF is, after all, a quality brand. Because, as they say, if you buy cheap, you buy twice. First impression: Great device with some weaknesses in the workmanship. But no matter: the result is outstanding! Amazing milk foam. After about a year, the milk frother started heating up more and more, so much so that the milk burned on the sides of the pot, and the foam also took on a burnt taste. Eventually, it was too much, and I sent the device in for repair. After about a month, I received a new one free of charge. It took a while... but okay. For about four months now, and now outside the warranty period, the LED under the "Heat Milk" button has been flashing immediately after plugging it in, just like another reviewer here and on Amazon reported. The fan also starts running, and the device becomes unusable. My conclusion: Two defective devices within three years. Average lifespan of the LONO Milk & Choc: 1.5 years. Incidentally, a call to the hotline was useless (the problem isn't described in the instruction manual): The employee immediately knew what issue I had with the machine and hinted that many customers were experiencing problems with defective Milk & Choc models. WMF and quality... those days are gone...

The milk frother is primarily used for heating milk for lattes. The milk heats up quickly to a comfortable drinking temperature, not too hot. Milk frothing is also quick and the foam is stable. Cleaning is easy: simply rinse the milk jug and insert under warm running water immediately after use and occasionally place them in the dishwasher.

So far, I've tested it for warm milk foam made with cow's milk and vegan milk, as well as hot chocolate, and it worked perfectly. It's quiet, fast, easy to use, and the milk foam is exceptionally dense and melts in your mouth. Highly recommended! I hope it lasts a long time.

We've been using the milk frother since August 2017. The device does what it's supposed to, but the whisk has broken twice now. Interestingly, the part always breaks in the same spot – the pins no longer stay attached to the base plate – see photos. When we first complained in 2019, WMF took over five months to deliver the replacement part (bear in mind, this was before the pandemic). Now, the new whisk only lasted from May 2019 to June 2021 and has broken again in the same place – coincidence? We're either fixing it ourselves or buying a new one, but the price of the replacement part (€25) is completely disproportionate to the price of a new milk frother. The quality and durability are nonexistent! STAY AWAY!

The frother actually makes great foam and chocolate... Well, unfortunately, if only the mixing wand hadn't broken... The solder joints broke and customer service isn't responding... Very disappointing...

For the price and the brand, the milk frother broke down far too quickly. First, the electronics and the button malfunctioned, then the device started buzzing erratically until now, when it stopped working altogether. Instead of repairing the devices or building them to last longer, I got the impression from customer support that I should just buy a new one. I'm not one to always buy everything new, especially when you invest a lot of money in a new one. Unfortunately, this didn't live up to expectations. In the future, I'll opt for a non-electric milk frother from a different manufacturer.

I've had this milk frother for over two years. The foam is amazing! Absolutely cafeteria-quality! I enjoy my foamy topping every day and am more than satisfied. Even when milk overflowed once (my mistake), everything worked perfectly. It's all stable and works great. I love it! The best investment I've ever made in a milk frother :)

bought the Lono milk frother for my girlfriend because it was the test winner. The milk froth is really good, no complaints there. We also haven't had any problems with the much-criticized whisk. Unfortunately, for some time now (after about a year), we've had the problem that an error message appears after the first serving of milk froth, and no further froth can be made. The error message is that the LED for the "hot milk" selection flashes, and no further function is available. There's no description of the error in the instruction manual. Unfortunately, it seems that not even anyone at WMF knows what this error message means. The milk frother has now been sent to WMF twice, and both times it was returned with the same advice: to consult the instruction manual. In my opinion, this level of support doesn't live up to WMF's standards and prevents me from recommending this product. If a device in this price range is defective within the warranty period, I would have expected more from WMF. Conclusion: For the limited lifespan and the inadequate support, it's simply far too expensive!
