With weaknesses in temperature
Basically top-notch, but somehow the espresso is too cold in the cup despite a brewing temperature of 96 degrees and a pre-warmed cup.

WMF Espresso Pro - Top
It was the perfect choice for me as a beginner in the world of espresso machines. The machine is very high-quality, made of metal and glass. After watching the videos (including Roastmarket's), it's incredibly easy to use, even though you can adjust a huge number of settings if you want. Everything was perfectly set up after about 30 minutes. A little tip: have it delivered; it's simply too heavy to carry yourself due to the high-quality materials.

High-quality espresso machine for beginners
The machine makes a high-quality impression, both in terms of design and handling. Operation is simple and almost intuitive. We're still finding it difficult to adjust all the components correctly to produce the perfect espresso. Overall, we are very satisfied and look forward to getting to know the machine better.

For hobby baristas with knowledge
chose this espresso machine after watching several tutorials on YouTube. I'd had bad experiences with another well-known manufacturer and wanted a quality machine that didn't cost a fortune. The WMF Pro seemed like just such a machine. I think I can confidently say that I can make a good espresso and that I've mastered the basics of coffee preparation. Only then can you truly be happy with this espresso machine. The grind setting has to be adjusted practically every time you open a new bag of coffee, as it always varies. There's no fixed setting, and the integrated scale is incredibly confusing. This leaves only a vague way to adjust the coffee quantity. Note: I'm not using industrially roasted coffee, but rather coffee from small roasters. If you can live with that and stop the coffee dispensing at the right time—you'll quickly get the hang of it—you can achieve a quantity between 17 and 19 grams. The coffee preparation always requires active attention; this also applies to the dispensing volume. To get 25 ml for a double espresso, you have to select a dispensing volume of up to 70 ml. The correct pressure for coffee dispensing is practically never achieved, regardless of grind size or amount. Okay, once you've come to terms with all these limitations, the workmanship and quality of some components are what primarily contribute to the portafilter's poor performance. The WMF Pro generally looks very neat and high-quality. The flaws lie in the details: sharp edges on the back scratch the delicate water tank, and it's best to remove the small lever used for unlocking the grinder. It's best to only reattach it for cleaning. Why? Because with this lever attached, the bean hopper is pushed upwards, and ground coffee and debris collect under the rim. This leads to grinding errors and jamming. Then, suddenly and without any apparent cause, a small pin on the grinding ring broke off. Clearly a manufacturing defect; the break is practically clean, as if the pin that clamps the portafilter was never properly bonded to the material. I'm curious to see how WMF will handle this with goodwill. It's a shame when a product is only tested on customers. Based on this experience and these characteristics, I wouldn't buy the WMF Pro again.

Water tank defective / Replacement part available in 4 months
The water tank fell apart after just a few days. The float switch and water filter broke off. According to WMF, the replacement part won't be available until mid-July. Unacceptable. The machine is the latest model and costs almost €1000. Now I'm supposed to wait four months for the part.

Very satisfied with the Espresso Pro
I've transitioned from the pampered world of fully automatic machines to the world of portafilter machines. The difference is unparalleled – it's no longer just a matter of pushing a button! But I wanted to savor the coffee more and taste the nuances of the beans, something you usually can't do with a fully automatic machine. I mainly drink 100% Arabica beans, and I grind them to a setting between 12 and 18, depending on the roaster. Achieving consistent tamping pressure was my biggest challenge, so I ordered an espresso tamper with a calibrated spring force that delivers over 30 lbs of consistent pressure. Now I can achieve consistent results when tamping, which is absolutely crucial. During brewing, the brewing unit naturally gets dirty with coffee, so you should perform the C1 and C2 cleaning cycles at least once a week. Afterwards, you'll have proper pressure and consistent results again. Because it's a dual boiler machine, you can make espresso and froth milk simultaneously, which I think is fantastic. The milk frothing results are fantastic for me (it worked perfectly after I took the tutorial videos seriously). I'm completely satisfied; I've never made such a great latte macchiato or espresso macchiato before. Even the double espresso with about 100ml of water plus frothed milk is a dream – it simply tastes amazing. Folks, this isn't a fully automatic machine; it needs your love and attention. PS: Enjoy the coffee! 100% Arabica beans from Italian roasters usually have a slightly chocolatey flavor, which I particularly like. So don't give up, experiment, and enjoy your coffee!
