We were actually looking for a simple pasta strainer when we happened upon the WMF Gourmet strainer. The reasonable price and the charming smile of the WMF salesperson convinced us to make an investment in the future. The device is as robust as ever, and of course, every member of the family had to test its ability to shield against negative thoughts – its shape and ergonomic handles certainly encourage this. A slight disappointment set in after the first use: the cooked pasta tasted exactly the same after straining; the hoped-for extra gourmet flavor boost unfortunately failed to materialize. Otherwise, however, the device fulfills its purpose – you pour cooked food into it from the top, and the water drains out the bottom. Perfect!
