Unfortunately, the salt mill broke after only a little use.

It looks really chic... but it's incredibly difficult to fill. You have to remove the lid and then put the food to be ground next to the remaining rod in the middle. I bought the mill for my own homegrown and dried chilies. In the store, they had also filled it with chilies for decoration. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. As I said, filling it is a nightmare, and the grinding mechanism doesn't grip the chilies. It might work better with salt or pepper because there's more weight behind it to push down, but for me, it was a bad purchase.

We have different types of pepper on the table in these mills; the grinding mechanism is good, and they look okay. The only downside is the missing lid on the bottom…

I had to completely disassemble the mill first to get anything out at all.

Beautiful stainless steel spice mill; I use it for chili flakes. Unfortunately, the mill doesn't have a lid over the grinding mechanism, meaning it's open at the bottom – the only downside. Otherwise, it's small and handy, perfect for spices and the like.

My star rating is based primarily on the fact that I received my order. The small pepper or herb mill looks great, and it's certainly excellent to use (like everything I've bought from WMF so far), BUT: I can't open and fill it! After several unsuccessful attempts, including a fruitless search for instructions online, I asked a neighbor for help. He couldn't manage it either. Due to the pandemic, I tried to make an appointment at the nearest WMF store... also without success, because although the website is still online, the store has been closed for over a year. Finally, I spoke to a very friendly employee at a more distant branch who first confirmed that I had done everything correctly, then suggested that I come in, he would help me, and could even exchange the mill if something was wrong. <big sigh> So I'll have to wait another good week before I can go 'into town' (my vaccination won't be fully effective until then) to get help opening a pepper mill. Crazy, right?

Because the grinder has so far proven quite satisfactory with different peppercorn sizes, and its shape and size please not only us, each type of pepper now has its own mill!
