15 knives
One knife was defective, with sharp edges on the handle and heavy wear! The remaining 14 were okay.

Still, great cutlery.
I ordered four replacement knives. After almost 14 years, four of them had developed small cracks where the blade was inserted, and they didn't look very nice anymore. After 14 years of daily use and washing in the dishwasher, that's acceptable to me. They all still cut very well. So I ordered four new ones. Unfortunately, one of the newly delivered knives was already scratched. I suspect it fell out of its protective film during transport. The film was separate in the packaging. Nevertheless, I'm keeping all four knives. All in all, I can recommend the set.

Inserted blade
For some, a unique blade might be a distinguishing feature, but the seam varies between knives from the same batch. This alone diminishes both the quality and the design. It should be obvious to everyone (despite its special qualities) that cutlery will show signs of wear after years of use.

Reviewer UW takes issue with the design, specifically the knife's inserted blade. Honestly, what good is the most amazing design if the quality is rubbish? A forged, inserted blade is more of a special feature than something to be bothered about. We've been using the entire cutlery set for several years now, and the knives are as sharp as new. The only thing to be realistic about regarding the "protect" properties is that the cutlery isn't completely free of wear. However, these are only minor, visible signs of use with careful handling. In that respect, the manufacturer's promise regarding Cromargan protect is accurate. Nevertheless, I would advise against twirling spaghetti in the spoon with a fork.

Design flaw
WMF describes Virginia as follows: "The transitions are seamless, creating a harmonious overall effect." However, a line has been incorporated into the knife that is absent from all other pieces of cutlery. This line is neither seamless; on the contrary, it disrupts the flow, nor does it make the knife appear harmonious with the other pieces in the set. Unfortunately, this is a serious design flaw that makes it look like a defective second and thus ruins the appearance of the entire series. Definitely needs improvement!
