Poor settings. Water leaks out the top and bottom. It's almost impossible to adjust accurately. The worst egg cooker available at this price.

can't necessarily agree with many of the reviews here. While the egg cooker's appearance and workmanship are impressive, ultimately, you buy such a device for its functionality. And achieving a satisfactory result only comes after extensive trial and error, including numerous failed attempts. We usually want varying numbers of eggs cooked to two different degrees of doneness (medium and almost hard). Since this egg cooker requires you to consider not only the size of the eggs but also the number and desired doneness, the very imprecise markings on the dial are absolutely useless. Before we found the exact point where the desired soft-boiled eggs were actually soft, we went through at least a pack of twenty eggs. But that didn't solve the problem, because I wanted my eggs cooked a little harder. The instruction manual's description of how to proceed with different egg hardness levels is missing information on "1 or 2 medium eggs and 1 hard egg." It only describes what to do for a soft and a hard egg. The statement that seven small eggs require the same setting as one extra-large egg is also unhelpful. What about three medium eggs or four extra-large eggs? A table with precise information on which dial setting is necessary for each egg size, number of eggs, and desired hardness level is missing. Furthermore, the scale on the dial should be subdivided multiple times in each range for better adjustment. We've practically written a doctoral thesis on this. This is not how an egg cooker should work! I might as well just cook the eggs with an egg timer and a pot on the stove. An egg cooker shouldn't be operated by guesswork!

The egg cooker is excellent; it has worked reliably for two years and always cooks eggs to the perfect hardness. My only criticism is the on/off switch, which sometimes causes water to leak when I pull the switch up while turning it on, and sometimes sends the eggs flying across the kitchen when I push it down while turning it off. (The latter might be a slight exaggeration.) Since it can cook up to seven eggs at a time, the claim of water waste is completely unfounded and incomprehensible. The Cromargan finish is also flawless. Kudos to WMF!

Sometimes the eggs break inside.. how to clean it? Is the stanless steel going out?
