The Shaler is leaking
I received the shaker as a gift, and it leaked the very first time I used it. Pressing down firmly was useless. The thing leaks. When I shake it, the contents leak out around the sealing edges. The retailer who sold it told me that this is to be expected with all such devices. They were willing to send it back and exchange it, but told me not to get my hopes up, as they all leak. I left it at that and asked a professional bartender who was amazed that WMF could produce such a poor-quality product and how a salesperson could make such a claim. What now?

Top Shaker
I'm not a bartender, but I'm absolutely delighted with this shaker. The jigger has two markings: 2 cl and 4 cl. Anything else is a matter of eyeballing it, or you'll need a separate jigger. Unlike many other shakers, nothing leaks when shaking. That's why I recommend it. The quality of the accessories is debatable, but I replaced the wooden muddler with the WMF Cromargan muddler for hygiene reasons anyway. I don't use the ice tongs, as I don't need that much ice for home use. I've never had the problem of the shaker getting stuck open. A definite buy for anyone who appreciates WMF quality.
