Good functionality, but prone to rust
wanted this foil cutter because my parents have the foil cutter from the Metric model (which is no longer manufactured) and I always thought it was great. The one from the Vino series does what it's supposed to, and it's nice not having to hack away with a waiter's knife anymore. But the stainless steel had several spots of surface rust and even small holes from pitting corrosion. Customer service sent a replacement very quickly, but the second one was much worse. So either I got two defective units, or WMF has a material problem, especially with stainless steel, which is, after all, their core brand material. I suspect the latter, because, for example, our new cutlery made of Cromargan protect is also rusting, and several reviews mention rust, for example, with the Vino corkscrew. This was never a problem with my parents' old cutlery. But in the future, I'll probably look elsewhere for kitchenware.
