The glass is very thin and breaks/cracks easily and is prone to cracking due to thermal shock.

We are extremely satisfied with the Erlangen branch. I can wholeheartedly recommend this store and, not least, WMF products. The discounts with the customer card are also quite attractive, especially when buying a complete kitchen set and wanting quality.

High level of commitment to procuring replacement glass

After many years, the old glass insert broke. The new one makes a good impression and is still intact after four uses. However, the spout is a bit too small, which is why the pouring action isn't the same as the old one.

We ordered a replacement glass; the first one broke after a short time when we removed it, and the second one cracked in the stainless steel insert. The quality has drastically declined! Goodbye WMF!!!

was actually very happy with my French press for years. Unfortunately, the glass broke in an accident while cleaning it, so I ordered a replacement from their website a week ago. However, the following happened with the replacement glass: after less than two days of use, it simply broke inside the pot without me doing anything (!!!!!). I had already seen some negative reviews, which mentioned, among other things, that the replacement glass was a bit too big – I think that was the problem for me too. However, I was so convinced of WMF's quality that I ordered the glass anyway – now I'm quite disappointed...

I think it's great that WMF offers a replacement glass so we can continue using our press! The glass thickness seems reasonable to us, and we haven't had any concerns about its breakage resistance so far. Compared to our old glass, the pouring is a bit uneven, and you sometimes have to aim carefully when pouring the coffee. An improved spout design would be desirable.

This order is a last resort. Based on experience and numerous subsequent orders, the quality is unacceptable and destroys any remaining trust.

Since this is the third glass insert that has shattered on me this year, I can only give a negative review. It's not pleasant when coffee suddenly spills all over the breakfast table.

Several people have reported the recently reduced quality (significantly lighter and with altered dimensions) and the increased fragility of the replacement glass. Despite this, I ordered the carafe from a local WMF store. The glass fits into the mold only with considerable force, and is much tighter than the original glass, which was slightly loose when I bought it about 8-10 years ago. Unfortunately, after just one week of use, the glass broke at the end of my vacation from a relatively minor bump. I'm really disappointed and am currently ordering 1-liter laboratory beakers, which are supposedly just as good for many coffee pots of this size. In short: Look for alternatives right away. Despite the many bad reviews over the past few years, WMF obviously doesn't care – well, at least the company management has changed things now. They're selling off their stock by lowering the quality.
