Plastic edging melted
I bought the toaster in May, and in August the kitchen suddenly smelled of burnt plastic. Upon investigating, we discovered the toaster was the source of the odor. The upper black plastic rim had melted. We are a family of three and don't use the toaster every day. Unfortunately, WMF received no response to our inquiry. Therefore, I cannot recommend this toaster. The second star is only because it can also toast American sandwich bread.

As a regular customer at a WMF store, it's frustrating to have to wait a long time for ordered goods and then find out the product is no longer available at the sale price (at the time of ordering). As a result, I'll have to order online next time!
