WMF Perfection 890L Fully Automatic Coffee Machine

In mid-May, I bought the WMF 890L fully automatic coffee machine from a WMF store in Bochum. After three weeks, the first error message appeared while frothing milk, telling me to unplug the machine and contact customer service. I thought it was just a one-off issue. About two to three weeks later, the message appeared several more times, so I wanted to return the coffee machine. I was then told it was a known software problem and the machine had to be sent in for repair, which is unacceptable to me given the price and manufacturer. On July 4th, 2025, I dropped the machine off at the store, and I've been waiting for it ever since. It was supposed to take 7-10 days. I thought the machine would be returned to WMF, but instead, it went to a subcontractor. They're so busy that they can't give me a date for when I'll get it back. The staff in the store weren't very helpful and showed little interest (they said the same thing could have happened anywhere else). An exchange or a replacement for a different fully automatic coffee machine wasn't possible, and it's been over four weeks. I won't buy anything from WMF again; for that money, I could have gotten a nice Siemens or Jura coffee machine. Today, after a four-week wait, the coffee machine was delivered. The service report doesn't mention the software update that the shop said should be performed; instead, it states that no error could be found. The aforementioned error message appears again during coffee preparation. I just want to return the machine and get my money back. I expected better customer service from a premium manufacturer.

A wonderful fully automatic coffee machine with minimal cleaning effort, ambient lighting, a great design that doesn't show fingerprints, extremely easy operation, dedicated milk and tea programs, and yes, the coffee in its various forms tastes absolutely wonderful! Worth every penny!

bought two of these machines for two different households in my family. Both machines broke down after less than six months. They both failed at almost the same time (about two weeks apart, with one machine having made less than 1000 cups). One leaked fresh water from the bottom, the other dirty water. For such expensive machines, this is absolutely unacceptable after such a short time. We had to send both machines in for repair, which unfortunately wasn't easy due to the poor customer service. A connecting piece was replaced in both machines. Now they are sealed and working again, at least for the time being. Nevertheless, I would never buy a WMF coffee machine again. The quality, workmanship, and customer service leave much to be desired.

The coffee machine's appearance, feel, and operation are excellent. The unit was very well packaged and delivered quickly. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the water tank (a large scratch). Why wasn't this caught during quality control in production? This shouldn't happen with such a high-priced item. The customer service representative was very friendly and competent. Hopefully, the replacement part will arrive soon.

Great design, coffee tastes really good, but the machine keeps freezing and now it always displays "tester container full" when switched on. The machine is too expensive and has too many problems for the price.

Works perfectly, is quiet, doesn't take long to heat up, whether for coffee specialties or tea water, it works flawlessly.
