think this appliance is fantastic – and there's a reason for that: its low continuous power consumption. This allows me to use it for more than just cooking rice. In my rented apartment, I generate electricity with solar panels in the windows and on the balcony. This powers an off-grid solar system with a 1,000-watt inverter in a 60 x 40 cm junction box. Now, I can set my induction cooktop to, say, 200 watts. But the cooktop doesn't then consume a constant 200 watts; instead, it might use, say, 1,200 watts for a second, then nothing for a few seconds, then a little more power, and so on. So that doesn't work. This mini rice cooker uses just over 100 watts continuously. I can cook rice with it in about 20 minutes. But I can also prepare, for example, a frozen stir-fry in about 35 minutes, something I would normally do in a pan on the stovetop in about 15 minutes. You just have to stir the contents of the pot more often. But frozen pieces of meat, for example, cook completely through. So, on good summer days with plenty of solar power, I can replace my stove with this and make full use of the solar energy. I also bought the approximately 350-watt mini grill from the same series. And I think these small, energy-efficient appliances from WMF are fantastic. Thanks to the developers for that.

As already mentioned in the reviews, I also purchased the cooker from Amazon - one of the lid tabs was already broken (it seems only a matter of time before the others break too...) - WMF has not yet informed me whether a replacement lid is available...

As a passionate home cook, this rice cooker is a real help. So far, I've only used the Indian method of cooking rice, but that's not suitable for all dishes.

As a fan of Asian cuisine, rice is very important to me. But with limited space in the kitchen and on the stovetop – a wok takes up a lot of room! – the Küchenminis rice cooker offered a great alternative. Measuring and filling it with rice and water is very simple, and the compact appliance really does take up hardly any space. The power cord could be a bit longer, but that's the only drawback, because with the push of a button, you can attend to other things while the rice steams and is kept warm. Cleaning is also very straightforward, as nothing sticks thanks to the non-stick coating, and the plastic rice spoon gets every last grain. I haven't used the steamer insert yet, but it also looks very well-designed.
