Milk froth is great, motor is a flop - already sent back twice in 1.5 years.
received the Lono as a gift and initially loved it. I only use it to make hot chocolate with powder. Thick foam, perfect temperature. After about six months, it started turning slowly and producing almost no foam. I sent it in and received a replacement quickly. Same problem: six months of perfection, then the motor failed overnight. This is now the third unit (because of the two-year warranty). Now the machine has been faulty from the start. It switches on briefly and then off again. Mind you, I always use the same brand of milk and cocoa powder. For a machine costing over €100, this is simply unacceptable. I will inquire about a refund. The two stars are for the customer service, which was excellent.

excellent milk frother
Very high-quality workmanship, superb milk foam, great function for preparing hot chocolate, and the stainless steel pot is easy to clean.

Qualitative weaknesses
Unfortunately, my Lono Milk & Choc milk frother has become unusable after barely two years. The disc holder is falling apart; the welds or adhesive points are clearly inadequate. A call to customer service wasn't very helpful either. Delivery of the replacement disc holder won't be until mid-June 2020. That's three months! Is it due to the pandemic? Hardly, considering the sheer number of defective holders. Just read the reviews to see why. So, more WMF e-waste, or rather, another manufacturer instead of WMF.

expensive design flaw
This milk frother is expensive junk. After just over six months, the whisk fell apart (with infrequent use) – and WMF customer service has disappeared and simply refuses to respond. Besides that, the milk burns...

Stirring rod
Overall, the thing works quite well, except for the milk sometimes getting burnt at the bottom and the stirring rod falling apart. With a little DIY skill, however, you can avoid having to pay WMF €20 every three months. Simply use a metal saw, Dremel, or similar tool to remove some material from the bottom of the three arches of the "cage," where the welds were, so that the three small pins become a bit longer. Then insert the slightly longer pins through the holes in the base plate, bend them over... done. It took me five minutes. Since then, no more problems ;-) Alternatively, you could have a metalworker or similar professional weld it on.

Disappointment
So much for good quality at a premium price!! Unfortunately, I didn't read the numerous reviews before buying. After six months, the stirring rod broke on ours too. In the store, you can order a replacement for €20.00 and get the same model?!?! What has become of this company? I expect free delivery of an improved version! Otherwise, this will be my last purchase from WMF!

Complete junk – despite the great foam consistency
Unfortunately, the whisk is broken again; the welds are a joke. We only ever wash the individual parts by hand, so it can't be due to dishwasher cleaning ("contact corrosion"). Furthermore, the milk bakes onto the sides, requiring a stiff sponge to remove the encrusted residue. Dear WMF team, even the truly excellent milk froth can't compensate for these flaws; someone really needs to address these weaknesses in the product. Even one star is too much!

Stirring rod
Unfortunately, the stirring rod also broke on our unit. So far, we haven't been able to find out where to get a replacement. Otherwise, we were very satisfied.

Stirring rod broke after 3 months
Like other users, our whisk broke after 3 months. Now we're looking for a replacement. Otherwise, the appliance is great, we're completely satisfied. It's just not good without the whisk...

4 Months & Broken
do not recommend this earlier. First of all, I purchased it and then had to wait 2 months for it to arrive in the mail. The retail store and website had no information. Disappointing start for such a big company. Second, having used it once per day for the past 4 months, it is broken. The stand piece came apart and waiting now 2 weeks for the stand to arrive. I would return it if I could. The theory is good but it doesn't work as it should for the price point. So, a few times the unit just refused to turn on. I unplug it after each use so I am not sure why there is such a problem. Unfortunately, the manual does not document it.
