A device of the highest quality and functionality.
am now the completely satisfied owner of the WMF "LONO 2 in 1" kettle and tea maker. The materials, the clean workmanship, and the functionality are flawless, just as one would expect from WMF. I find the ability to customize the factory settings to my liking to be a great advantage. Admittedly, the appliance isn't cheap, but quality comes at a price. All in all, a successful appliance that I can recommend without hesitation. As mentioned at the beginning, I am completely satisfied with the appliance and don't regret making this purchase at all. Sincerely, Teafreak 007.

Great Teamaker
Excellent device to make tea fast and tasty. Robust design, not the cheapest, but nice quality materials used, made with real glass and real metals. The functionality of the buttons is a bit weird and could have been made much easier, but once you know how it works, it's ok. Don't throw the manual away ;-)

Plastic material
For the plastic material in the kettle, appreciate to know the chemical composition and whether there is any health risk.

It's a shame that WMF no longer stands for quality and service.
I've owned a Skyline for two years, and it's clear WMF has strayed from its path of quality. If you lose trust in a brand with one product, you lose trust in the entire brand. Sorry, but that's not an option.

Never again without it.....
This tea and water kettle is simply fantastic. As a passionate tea drinker, it fulfills its purpose perfectly for me. Great design, very easy to use, super easy to clean, no long waiting time, and very quiet. I recommend this great appliance to anyone who drinks tea daily and doesn't want to have several teapots cluttering up their space. I would buy it again in a heartbeat, and the price is justified for this quality!

Elegant design with weaknesses in use
After a few weeks of experience with my newly acquired LONO tea maker, I've unfortunately discovered a few drawbacks to this otherwise attractive appliance: 1. As is well known, true tea lovers consider the steeping time crucial, as it significantly influences the flavor, depending on the type of tea. Even when precisely adhering to the maximum water level, the tea leaves come into contact with the boiling water during the initial heating phase, clearly visible and recognizable by the water's initial discoloration. It takes quite a while for the boiling process to finish and for the adjustable steeping time to begin with the push of a button... Therefore, I'm currently "experimenting" to find a way to achieve a satisfying flavor after both the unintended and a shortened "correct" steeping time. A workaround is possible if you only attach the lid/tea infuser insert after the water has boiled – and use the simple lid that comes with it for use as a kettle only until then. However, swapping it immediately after boiling is not only risky and inconvenient, but certainly not the intended purpose. – Unacceptable to me. 2. Pouring the brewed tea with the lid/tea infuser insert still attached is rather messy because the necessary amount of air cannot enter quickly enough during emptying. The pouring opening is only sufficient if the tea infuser/lid mechanism is removed beforehand. But this requires the use of a pot holder or similar, as the parts are, of course, extremely hot. While it is possible to pour "drip-free" by very carefully and attentively tilting the kettle, this is annoying. I won't like this in the long run either. 3. Finally, drying the glass cylinder is difficult, if not impossible, for a "fully grown man's hand." Presumably, the whole thing was designed in Asia, where people are known to be shorter... Leaving the teapot upside down isn't a solution, unfortunately, because the remaining liquid can't drain out. Therefore, the "easy to clean" claim isn't really valid for me. Conclusion: Not quite as perfect as promised in the product description and as described by other reviewers.

Elegant appearance with minor flaws
My initial enthusiasm has waned... and in daily use, I've noticed a few drawbacks to the concept and design: 1. Even when adhering to the maximum fill level, it's impossible for the tea infuser to remain dry until the tea strainer is lowered, i.e., until the programmable brewing time begins. The rapidly boiling water prevents this. This poses a real problem for tea lovers who pay attention to the exact brewing time. The possible workaround isn't convenient, as it means attaching the tea strainer and lid unit only after the water has boiled, while it's still boiling. (Not without risk and unacceptable to me.) Currently, I'm "experimenting" with the brewing time setting to try and recreate the flavor of my tea, as was traditionally possible and customary, by balancing the period of "unintentional water contact" with the desired brewing time after boiling. 2. Pouring with the lid and strainer still attached isn't ideal; too little air can circulate to pour the tea cleanly. Removing the lid and strainer requires using a pot holder or similar to avoid touching the hot unit. This isn't satisfactory for me in the long run. 3. Finally, the inside of the teapot is difficult to dry, at least with a large hand... (Perhaps it was designed in Asia...)

Top product
The price initially put me off, but I decided to buy the machine anyway and I'm very happy with it. The workmanship and materials are definitely worth the money. The container is made of high-quality Schott glass. A clear recommendation to buy.

Hopefully better than the Skyline Vario
The Lono tea and water kettle is brand new to me. Therefore, I can currently only comment on its appearance and functions. The most important thing, however, is the product quality and, consequently, its reliability – more on that later. I previously owned the WMF Skyline vario kettle, which was advertised in exactly the same way at the time. Mine lasted three years before it broke down (it suddenly switched off after 1-2 seconds and stopped heating) and, according to WMF, was beyond repair. They offered me a replacement with a 30% discount. However, this was only available from the WMF online shop, where the same products are about 20-25% more expensive than from other online retailers. I no longer trusted the product and opted for the Lono tea and water kettle. I'll discuss later how the glass container looks after several uses (similar to our current teapot?) and how easy it is to clean before boiling water again.
