Inferior quality
WMF's claim of "long-lasting quality" definitely doesn't apply to this device. After the gearbox broke following the very first use, we received a replacement under warranty. With careful use, it lasted almost two more years. Now the small gear on the shaft has broken again. Due to its design, it can't withstand much force. So my advice: only use this device to chop herbs! The blade isn't suitable for anything else either, as it will bend. It would be easy for WMF to build the gearbox with brass or bronze gears. It might be a bit louder, but it should be significantly more robust. The blade would also need to be made thicker. I 3D-printed a replacement gear from ABS. Now the device is working again, at least for the time being.

First use: blade bent. First wash: some round piece came loose from the lid. Now the whole appliance is unusable. Designed to wear out. This is fraud against the customer.

Cult x edition shredder - cheap junk
The blade bent after the first use. It broke after the first wash in the dishwasher. I think a round piece came loose from the lid, and now the motor no longer transmits the impulse to the blade. I'm not going to bother with the hassle of sending it back and finding a repair shop. The numerous negative reviews unfortunately confirm my frustration in the worst possible way. They just want to sell quickly, produce junk, and manufacture products designed to wear out. That's unfair and borders on fraud. Apparently, nobody there cares what their customers think.

Defective after a short time - spur gear
Our beloved food processor is also broken. It opens easily, is well-made, and generally easy to repair. The problem is a small spur gear. WMF claims they are unable to supply a replacement part. I've now ordered a custom-made gear online from kkpmo.com: module 0.8, 12 teeth, 4.5 mm center bore. I had to enlarge the bore slightly to fit the gear. But now the device works perfectly again and runs smoothly. Hopefully, WMF will understand the importance of sustainability and stop building in planned obsolescence.

I'm very satisfied. It looks nice, and it was important to me that the container is made of glass. It also chops quickly and extremely quietly.
