WMF Perfection 890L Fully Automatic Coffee Machine

We've had the machine for almost a year now. The fully automatic coffee machine is easy to use, looks great, the touchscreen works well, the LED lighting is high quality, and personalization works perfectly. BUT: unfortunately, for a regular coffee in a standard cup, you always have to brew two cups, or you have to use smaller cups. It's quite a time-consuming process for two brewing cycles for just one cup of coffee. Latte macchiatos are consistently "incorrectly dosed" despite the milk and coffee amounts being saved. The latte glass often overflows with milk foam before the espresso even comes out. The drip tray seems very cheap for the high purchase price and is sometimes difficult to clean; you always have the feeling the lid of the drip tray is about to break off when you take it apart. In conclusion: a great machine with a few shortcomings that, in my opinion, shouldn't exist at such a high price. It would certainly be easy for the manufacturer to increase the beverage volume for, say, coffee to 250ml so that the customer can ultimately adjust the volume themselves at home.

The plastic material used for the drip tray cover is not high quality and gives the impression that it will break after being opened several times.

This fully automatic coffee machine is perfect in every detail. The coffee tastes incredibly delicious, I'll never go without it again! Only WMF from now on!

Preparation of individual servings is fine. Cleaning function only works before brewing coffee. Milk hose cannot be left attached to the machine. Water tank is not easy to handle. Grounds container can only be removed without the milk hose. The materials feel cheap. I'm somewhat disappointed.

Quiet, easy to use, no complex menus. Front controls for water, pucks, and residual water tray, and separate ones at that. Great for everyday use. After 19 years, switching brands is a big step. Now we just have to wait and see if it maintains this level of quality over time.

In mid-May, I bought the WMF 890L fully automatic coffee machine from a WMF store in Bochum. After three weeks, the first error message appeared while frothing milk, telling me to unplug the machine and contact customer service. I thought it was just a one-off issue. About two to three weeks later, the message appeared several more times, so I wanted to return the coffee machine. I was then told it was a known software problem and the machine had to be sent in for repair, which is unacceptable to me given the price and manufacturer. On July 4th, 2025, I dropped the machine off at the store, and I've been waiting for it ever since. It was supposed to take 7-10 days. I thought the machine would be returned to WMF, but instead, it went to a subcontractor. They're so busy that they can't give me a date for when I'll get it back. The staff in the store weren't very helpful and showed little interest (they said the same thing could have happened anywhere else). An exchange or a replacement for a different fully automatic coffee machine wasn't possible, and it's been over four weeks. I won't buy anything from WMF again; for that money, I could have gotten a nice Siemens or Jura coffee machine. Today, after a four-week wait, the coffee machine was delivered. The service report doesn't mention the software update that the shop said should be performed; instead, it states that no error could be found. The aforementioned error message appears again during coffee preparation. I just want to return the machine and get my money back. I expected better customer service from a premium manufacturer.
