can only echo the previous reviews. This egg cooker was a disaster right from the first use! The stainless steel got stains that can't be removed after just one use. The lid doesn't stay in place during cooking; it keeps popping up, causing splashes everywhere – it was a complete mess. I filled the water to the marked line, I didn't do anything wrong. I set the dial to "soft," but the eggs came out hard. So, what justification does WMF use for the price? I don't understand! A standard egg cooker is better, so sorry, this is unacceptable. I complained today and, to make matters worse, I had to listen to an untrained employee in the store rant about it because she wasn't interested in my problem. I ended up ordering a regular one from Amazon; nobody needs this, sorry. The quality is poor, both in the product and in the employee's behavior.

Cooking eggs is complicated (things the world doesn't need)
If you enjoy reading a multi-page instruction manual only to never achieve the desired consistency of your egg, then buy this product. For everyone else, I recommend buying a regular egg cooker where the degree of cooking is determined by the amount of water added, or simply using a pot of boiling water. I have many WMF products in my kitchen, but I haven't thrown this one away yet because it was a gift.

Somewhat disappointed
The hard-boiled egg was very good. Unfortunately, the lid is so light that it constantly lifts during cooking, causing water to splatter everywhere. This is unsatisfactory. I expect more from a WMF egg cooker.
